Our Nation is #BetterThanThis
As part of Cohesion Strategy, we’re joining with other groups and we need you to stand with millions of other Americans to say our nation is better than political violence!
From the assassination of Charlie Kirk, to the shootings of Minnesota legislators Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman and their spouses, to the attempt to assassinate President Trump, the country needs Americans to unequivocally state that such acts have no place here.
Today, a coalition of organizations working in the bridging space will help work to flood social media with the message that political violence is never acceptable and that America is #BetterThanThis. Our goal is to fill people’s feeds with content from fellow Americans speaking out in solidarity against the use of political violence.
If you agree that violence is never an acceptable solution to political divides, please repost our messages, and/or share the graphic below on your social media channels tomorrow along with your own message about why Americans must oppose political violence.
I am grateful for the work that National Institute for Civil Discourse, Braver Angels, and BridgeUSA have already done in leading this effort!
You can also just share the short caption “I join the millions of Americans who condemn political violence. What unites us is more important than what divides us. We are #BetterThanThis.”
Many of us are also recording a video to share our voices at https://lnkd.in/ehNz6Nzz.
Use the hashtag #BetterThanThis to amplify your voice on social media and stand alongside other Americans who believe we must find a better way of engaging our differences.
